Participants in CAEP’s Turf Management program are placed on some of the premiere golf courses in the United States, and have an opportunity to learn from top professionals using the best technology in the world. CAEP hosts are passionate about the turf industry and set high standards for CAEP participants by encouraging trainees to participate in activities involved with golf course and sports turf activities.

These placements are demanding and require that the participant have both practical experience working at a golf course and an academic background in Turf Management Programs. Placements are available throughout the United States. Current host placements are available in northern states during spring/fall and southern states from fall/spring.  Year-long placements are available as well as an 18-month program. There is an option for the participant to attend an eight-week turf grass management course at world-renowned Penn State. CAEP participants are eligible to apply for financial support via a grant from the Toro Company.

  • Seeding
  • Top dressing
  • Irrigation
  • Pest and insect control
  • Fertilization mowing
  • Turf grass establishment/renovation
  • Bunker maintenance
  • Course setup
  • Equipment maintenance
